Aargh!

This is getting ridiculous: Still got a cough.
Mom thinks that I need antibiotics.

To make things worse, I made fudge last night. :(

Still at the Starting line, but Haven't Yet Passed 'Go'

Hoarse voice. Blocked ears. Still no appetite.

I guess the no-appetite is a good thing, considering that I'm trying to lose weight. :)

Day 1 & 2

What a bust.

Sunday morning started normally enough with my doing a 15-min muscle-toning workout, as I didn't want to over-exert myself by running on the first day itself.

Anyway, after that, I had a very light breakfast of a small banana sandwhich. BIG mistake. By lunch, I was ravenous.

That's the first rule in maintaining a healthy diet: ALWAYS have a big, well-balanced breakfast. After all, you're literally breaking your fast of at least 9-10 hours. And by maintaining this rule, you're sure to eat less for lunch and even less for dinner.

People claim that you should have around 6-7 small meals a day. Not practical for me. I have time for only 3, and occasionally, I have something for tea.

Anyways, back to my story. After having my lunch-that-could-feed-a-starving-army, I caught a fever. I have no idea from where I caught it but by evening, I was in bed.

It's like the cosmos is plotting against me.

Still not feeling well. Should be fine by Wednesday. I guess I'll re-start everything then.

Hmm. :(

Prelude

I have always been over weight.

I was a big baby when I entered this world. I had a healthy appetite when I was growing up. And being the youngest and most pampered one, I always got what I wanted when I wanted it.

I have tried numerous ways to lose weight:
* Skipped rope upto 500 times a day (resulted in me having fabulous calves even now)
* Learnt Beginner's yoga (Lost 2 kgs but regained when I realised that I didn't have 3-4 hours a day to simply focus on breathing)
* Gone on an only-Salads diet (Lost 2 kgs there again. Quickly regained when I went back to my original diet)
* Crash diets (Don't bother)
* Aerobics (Fabulous the 2 times I went for the class. Built an enormous appetite which I carried on even after I stopped)

Last year, I got some help and went on a vigorous attempt to change my lifestyle. It ALMOST succeeded. I ran everyday morning, and I also followed a healthy diet. It worked well. I saw results at the end of the first week, and I felt good even after 4 months.

But I stopped because of committment issues.

Well, here I am once again. And this time, I can't afford to stop.

This blog is going to be about my trials and triumphs along my long, difficult journey. After all, I'm battling with 25 years worth of bad habits.

Sometimes, I will be angry about succumbing to that sinful dessert and will vent out. But other times, I will be happy about choosing fruits over icecream and be witty.

I'll post random stuff about myself as well as effective tips to losing weight. Maybe it will help somebody else.

Anyways, here's to the beginning! *Clink* :)
